CCR Question #1 Draft

My project uses the conventions of other magazines from the same genre. The cover features a single athlete who is the dominant subject of the page. A majority of sports magazine picture 1 athlete on the cover of their magazine. I emulated this tactic in my own project because I felt that it it a great way to catch someones attention. Another technique I used get the point across clearly is a bright color scheme. This also helps grab your attention and sparks your interest. Pops of color allow the main picture as well as titles pop out. Along the side of the featured athlete there is a list of headings of some of the main articles of the magazine, a tactic used in a lot of professional magazines. By placing the text off to the side, it allows readers to get an idea of the content of the magazine without covering up any of the main image.
 My magazine represents the social groups of young teen athletes as well as sports fans in general. The models for my magazine are all in high school, grades 9-12 which attracts readers of the same age. In a wider scope, with the focus of the magazine on running, it is able to attract older consumers as well. All ages enjoy sports like running, and even college scouts are always on the lookout for the next big athlete. Though my magazine is centered on track, other issues of the magazine focus on other sports. Readers from those issues can cycle through the different sports and enjoys the variety.
